Ten minutes before he passed away the deer emerged from the forest, a doe and fawn in the early morning light. The atmosphere in the room changed to one of celebration and excitment when we saw them from the window. I called to the nurses to come and see them and they said they had never seen the deer before. It was a fitting tribute to my father who would not allow hunters to hunt on our property so as to protect the deer. As soon as I returned to my home in the midwest (after the funerel) I painted them as they had appeared. God is Good. Bunny
